I consider myself a ‘morning’ person. I like to get up at a decent time. I like to have my cup of coffee and check my e:mails. I like to make my bed and tidy up. I like to read a scripture (or two). I like to make sure everything is in place before I leave for the day. I have a morning routine.
I read this article recently and realized there’s opportunity to do more in just a few added minutes.
I definitely agree that how you start your day determines ‘how’ your day goes. For example. Today it’s already 1:00 in the afternoon and I have not been very productive. Breakfast here –
in support of the Tsunami baseball team. Then I rode with hubby to a job in a development in the county that I had NEVER seen before -Beallair. It is a beautiful community with beautiful homes.
The original Beall-Air home is located within the development … of course I had to get some pictures.
I also looked up the information on the home – Click HERE if you are into learning about the historic places within our county.
If you’re in the market for a new home and looking for a beautiful location, click HERE. I love discovering this kind of stuff =)
Then off to the bake sale for Cierra’s 4H club. Yum! Pies. Cupcakes. Pumpkin rolls. Soups. And more.

And because the bake sale was held at the local meat shop we of course bought some fresh meat! Bacon. Sausage. Hamburger. Roast. Chicken.
Locals should really check D&D Meat Market out – 304-229-5164. They are located in Inwood, right across from the high school.
So anyway, I haven’t been very productive. That means that I’m probably not going to get much done for the rest of the day. Sometimes that’s ok. On the other hand, when I get up and start doing things right away I feel much better about the day and what I have accomplished.
When you have a day like this, it’s your choice as to accepting it or taking the extra steps. I typically chose to take the extra step about 50% of the time. That means digging in. Making a list. Catching up! Maybe even a late evening cup of coffee if I need that extra boost.
After reading the article, I think I am going to add a couple of things to my morning routine. It will look something like this –
- get out of bed
- drink a glass of water
- fix my coffee
- read my morning scripture
- check my e:mails
- make a list of what i need to accomplish (including tonight’s meal)
- 10 minutes of exercise (I can usually ‘ride’ a mile in 5 minutes so that gives me time to add in actual exercise.
- make my bed
- tidy up
- pack my lunch
- Make the day Awesome!
