Welcome to Crockett’s Corner!
We live on the corner in the small town of Leetown, West Virginia. Unincorporated. Population….oh, it’s unknown. We’re so small we have not been included in Census counts therefore there is no population information for our community. Ha!
Anyway, I have lived here my entire life. I walked to the elementary school which was a four room school, heated by coal. We had a small ‘general’ store where we bought penny candy and entered the Sunbeam Bread coloring contest where we colored the little blonde haired, blue eyed girl in a blue and white checked dress. I rode my bike until the dinner bell rang and life was good. No cell phones. No computers. Just lots of catching fireflies and rolling down the hill beside our house.
I have now grown up. With a wonderful husband of 24 years. Four children (two boys and two girls). Three beautiful granddaughters. Three furry babies – Java, Skipper, Bella. Cell phones. iPads. Laptops. Yep, life is still pretty good.
So now you know a little bit about me. I started blogging in 2009 simply to keep track of our family activities and assist with the scrapbooks I hope to maintain. I have made lots of blog friends and find it as an outlet. I get to share my inner most thoughts – both high and low. I reflect on my family’s milestones and memorable times. I share what I just might be making/sewing and I might even show you what’s on my book shelf. Oh and wine is another passion and we live on the edge of Virginia Wine Country so I’ll be sure to keep you updated there as well.
I recently decided to begin the journey of blogging for some extra income thus Passions of a Leetown Lady was born. There you will find information related to four of my passions. Life. Faith. Made@Home. Blogging.
My goal. Hope. Dream. Is to one day live where the sand meets the sea. There’s just something about that life. Salt life. I am hoping also to be able to live that life by the sea a little easier by blogging for a living. Yes, that’s a stretch but I am going to work hard.
I’m glad you’re here and please stop by often to keep up with what’s happening on our little corner of the world.
Peace out – Bev
