So true…..and there really IS something about the salt water. It just soothes the soul.
We are here. Our happy place. Where the sand meets the sea. Life is good.
We can only pretend to live by the sea one week out of the year. (maybe two) It works. We enjoy EVERY minute of it.
This year in order to save some money, I searched for a place on the bay. I had heard about Sunset Island and it looked really nice so I booked. And waited. Packed. Arrived. We were NOT disappointed.
Here’s reasons why:
- BEAUTIFUL sunsets
- Gated community
- Quiet – away from the hustle bustle but only a few block away =)
- 1 mile walking path
- Restaurant on the property
- 3 beaches
- fishing pier
- beach area
- 2 pools
- fitness room
- convenience store
of course, I really could go on and on. There is live music every evening. It’s just an all around perfect place.
We picked up our packets around 3 the headed to our ‘home by the sea for the week’ =)

Unpacked – then hit Walmart for the food. HATE that part but survived. Barely.
Once back, we decided to check out The Landing which is the restaurant by the beach. It was a great walk –

We checked out the fishing pier and beach area –

It was definitely a happening place. Good music. Awesome atmosphere. Perfect views while we waited.

Dinner was very good. Shrimp and bacon wrap. Chicken Chesapeake. Burgers. Fries.

It’s very nice to have this restaurant within walking distance. Variety of menu items – something for all.
Day one was a success. All five of us are here, ready to get into something different for day 2.
Peace from OC. xo
