Destination Weddings – the new way!

Honored.  That’s how we felt to share in the celebration of these two –

We consider them ‘family’ (it’s kinda a long story).  But we have been ‘friends of the family’ for nearly 40 40 years.  So when Jade and Markee tied the knot in Jamaica with a reception here, we were excited to attend.

As expected, everything was perfect.  It has been really hot and humid and that day was no exception but by the time it started amazingly, there was a breeze and it ended up being a beautiful evening.

The food was catered by Margarita and was very tasty.  Plenty of food, for sure!  Salad, pork, potatoes, green beans and bread.

Dance time was pretty cool, too.  First the Jade and Markee.  Then the father/daughter dance where they were joined by all fathers and daughters.  Then the mother/son dance where the same took place.  At one point the dj was trying to narrow down the couple with the most years together and it was amazing to see so many greater than 25.  The winning couple have been together 67 years.  Wow! And here’s a pic of the bride’s parents, happy for their daughter and new son-in-law.

The cake was not only beautiful but delicious.  Her colors were the color of caribbean water and the cake was spot on.  It seemed to be on the lines of white chocolate raspberry.  Did I say Delicious?!

I don’t have any experience with Destination Weddings but it does seem to be the way many are going these days.  I mean who wouldn’t love to start that chapter next to the blue water and white sand?   When searched, there are several options to help plan.

I think this would be a really cool business to be in.  I had no idea – the options are endless.    And their wedding was in Jamaica – that’s a place we have not yet visited.  So of course I had to search for that while I am at it =)
