Ways to deal with the rain –

ha!  It has literally rained 17 days of the last 21.  NO, I am not in Seattle.  NOR do I want to be.  Geez.

And even worse, yesterday it was beautiful.  No, BEAUTIFUL.  But it was Friday.  It was a workday.  And today is Saturday and its rainy.  hmmm.  So here’s how I am overcoming the rain.  I’m using my time wisely.

First, I am cleaning up my e:mails.  Filing.  Reacting.  Deleting.  Now I have a sense of accomplishment.  Next, I am catching up on the interviews from this week as part of the “Work by Design Summit“.   These have been awesome!  I have downloaded three books as a result of listening to these successful peeps and have 6 new FB friends.  Whew!

I also scheduling my blog posts using a handy dandy planner  Somehow I have ended up with 3 different ones….must be my ADD.  To be honest I haven’t used any of them to their fullest capacity but that’s my new goal.  We’ll see how that works out.

It’s also time to get back on track with the course I am taking – Elite Blog Academy.  I am way behind so my plan is to get caught up – that’s my goal for today =)   So far…so good.   I have completed unit 1.  This is a 12 week course with the easiest being the first (hehe)

And just maybe I will find some time before the Preakness to make the Origami box from Shabby Fabrics (insert link)

This is actually a ‘no sew’ project.  I promise to share =)

You must be wondering what my purpose in this post is and what does it have to do with blogging.  Welllll – back in January I signed up for a Food Photography course.  And while I do frequently take pictures of food, that’s really not my goal or passion.  But…..this course was very beneficial.  You see the skill and information referenced and taught can be applied to anything you photograph.  She talks about the basics, equipment, lighting, and many other important aspects to good photography.  I think there are 130 different videos.  (Please don’t sigh…) my suggestion is to break it down in groups.  Each is quick but I think you get more out of it when you do a whole section.  Go ahead!  Give it a try – we all know one of the most important features of our blog is the awesome photographs.  So go for it – you can start today.  Click on the link above but here’s a summary and how she explains her awesome course –

WHAT DOES FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY SCHOOL REALLY OFFER?

Food Photography School is an entirely video-based course to visually help you learn how to become an amazing food photographer.

The ability to take exceptional food photographs is an empowering skill with limitless potential. Mastering food photography helped Dana start her own business and land many professional photography gigs. Now she’s here to teach you everything she knows.

Take your passion beyond just a hobby. Make it your craft.

YOU WILL LEARN FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY:

VISUALLY. FASTER. BETTER.

But then again, if you life  in a spot that is dry  & sunny and it’s better to be outside, then just sign up and start after sunset.  For me, it’s and inside day for sure!  I am burning a Diamond candle my sister gave me for Mother’s Day and was even able to pull out the ‘surprise’ ring.  Love these!

Have a great day.  Make it a productive one and you will feel ‘accomplished’, too!
