Write like Rory. Record like Rory. Preserve memories like Rory. He is so talented and I LOVE how he keeps Joey’s spirit alive. Every time I read his posts or watch his videos I just sit here. Thinking. Wondering what it was like to truly know her. She made such an impact on the world. Especially Rory’s world.
I have always believed that God only gives us what we can handle. I think Joey and Rory are proof of that. Even in my own little life, sometimes I get to a point where I wonder “what else?”. Every storm or low point certainly teaches us something. Even if that something is a lesson to your child. But with faith, we keep going. We hold our chin up and make lemonade knowing it could always be worse.
At a funeral the other day I thought about what would be said at mine (I typically do that). What do people know me for? My work at Wells Fargo? My Blogging? My children and the ‘so-so’ job I have done raising them? My Dad? I have come to realize that it’s never too late to make a difference. Every day is a new chance to make a memory. Every day is a gift. So onward and upward my friend. Not all of us have a ‘Rory’ in our family but maybe we can learn from him so the memories we make and preserve will help people remember the good in us.
