It’s Friday eve…

That’s usually a good thing unless you’re on vacation 🙂

So, we slept in and had a late breakfast. Of course snorkeling was on some of our minds so we decided to head to Maho beach again. J decided we should go around to the other side of the beach which appeared to be in the ocean from what I could tell but what the heck, it was worth a try. So, we go on past Maho. We come upon the Lil Maho Bay Campground. After a long, windy road, we pulled in and asked if we could just head to the beach which was supposed to have some good snorkeling. Of course we can – so 192 steps later we are on the beach, all set up and ready for some snorkeling. Shew, did you catch the 192 steps to the beach?! So worth it! The snorkeling was great! We saw so many different kinds of fish (I won’t bore you with them) but it was the greatest! We saw baracudas and the ‘queen’ angel fish and even a camoflauge flounder. J and I came out of the water after an hour or so but Ronnie and Chase stayed in for a while longer. Cierra and I eventually went in so she could see the varieties. Before we headed home we stopped by Maho in hopes of swimming with the turtles. We did that plus swam with sting rays…oh my. I was a little nervous about that but it all worked out. The turtles were great!

can you see the flounder?
now you can…J, Ash, Britt and Kayden headed back home earlier because Little Miss Kayden wanted to take a nap. She wasn’t too crazy about being at the beach today. Do you think it had anything to do with getting her 1st tooth?! She has had so many ‘firsts’ this week and we are so honored to be able to share in them with her!! They had lunch at Woody’s again then headed back to spend some time in the pool. Even if you look close, it’s hard to see but she got her first tooth on the bottom right. We had dinner at home then the kids played Uno, logged into their laptops and just chilled out. What are we getting in to tomorrow?!

I must admit that the kids are having a tough time adjusting to it getting dark here around 7:30 – 8:00 each night. The islands don’t recognize daylight savings time but it really does get dark sooner here than home…it has been a lot of fun having them all together each night though!
We did call Ma and wish her a Happy Birthday from St. John! Unfortunately my laptop crashed so I’m using Cierra’s and don’t have any pics of Ma to post. I’ll have to make it up to her when I get back home….
