I’ll be honest…..new experiences are typically shared with Ronnie but given the situation and meetings this week, it makes total sense this one wasn’t.

I have been here all week and tonight was a team event – a cooking experience at the Kitchen Window in downtown Minneapolis.

After a full day of meetings and a few minute to freshen up, we boarded the shuttle/bus and headed downtown. We arrived and walked through the actual store. Up the escalator and in line to obtain our aprons – woohoo! (Thank goodness I didn’t have to wear a chef’s hat, LOL)
Once inside we were able to make our own appetizer – grilled grapes, asian pears, parmesan cheese, nuts and balsamic vinegar placed in an endive – soooo tasty!

The group was just a little loud which caused the guy in charge to bang on the bowl…

We were assigned to teams – mine was Calhoun…

And then given instructions and the recipe as to what part we played in the four course meal. I seriously see a food coma coming on, LOL.
The team I was on had the walleye salad. We mixed the ingredients for the tempura, flowered, dipped, fried.

The salad dressing was all home made as well. I think this was actually called puree’.

We also were responsible for the roasted almonds. Sweet!

Another team had the corn fritters. Fresh corn. Rice. All fried up together with a special sauce.

The main course was a Cornish hen with mushrooms and potatoes.

And the dessert – wow! freshly made ‘tart’ apple dumplings. Exciting and yummy stuff.

Each team played their part and the we were sent outside while things cooked.

The tables were set –

and beautifully decorated –

After about 20 minutes, they went to work preparing our plates –

And then the meal was served – Our salad first!

And then the corn fritters –

The main course – Cornish hens….

Freshly made apple turnovers –

What an awesome meal andgreat ‘diverse’ team building event. We had to rely on each other and communicate very effectively LOL.! I totally could have stopped after the salad and corn fritter. So much food in such a short period of time, ha!
To wrap up, I would be remiss if I didn’t share a picture of someone that was concerned about the election. =) Interested then worried –
And, as always, I made a new friend – Meet Laurel – She has a degree in Art and is interested in some photography courses and creating her own blog. I love meeting new people with similar passions. I am excited to help her.

I searched our area to see if there is something similar – Not so much around our immediate area but in Washington, DC I found COZY MEAL. Looks like it could be fun for team building activities.
I did find TINY CHEFS, one for children – Appears to be in the Ashburn, VA and Baltimore, MD area. Looks like lots of fun for children with many options.
Other group activities includes Team Building Scrabble – Our group definitely had fun with this! Basically you give each person a letter. The objective is to build a word (at least 5 letters), use all the letters and the table with the most creative word wins. Did you know Smellerator was a word?! HEHE. We obviously didn’t win.

The 3 day event is over and I am happy to be heading home. Praying for friendly skies.
