This year we decided to stay ‘local’ to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary weekend. Day trips, bike rides, nice, romantic dinners….relaxing. But really, we had no plans. It is kinda nice =)
Our 4 day weekend started Friday – we attended Cierra’s Shepherd University orientation (post will be coming).

Kayden has been attending a cheer camp all week so we were able to see her ‘end of the week’ performance.

And since it was the 4th Friday, Breaux was open until 9.

As we sat there, talking about the years past and years to come. A text came to Ronnie inviting us out on the bay to go fishing. (Ronnie does have some pretty cool friends, hehe). Of course we said “YES, we will be there”. What time? Mum between 6 and 7 AM. Whew! So we picked up a pizza to save some time and get in bed a little earlier. I set my alarm for 3 and oh boy. When my alarm when off I thought….welp, this was a great idea last night, ha! But I persevered and we hit the road at 4:27.
It was a little cloudy so I checked the weather – no rain in sight and mostly sunny. Soon the sun burnt through the clouds and It. Was. Beautiful.

Tom was pretty much ready to head out so it was time for me to sit back and take in the view – The life….

Look at this boat!

And these – Oh Ronnie has his eye or building one of these –

and once through the channel, he hit the throttle

We’ve been “Across” this bridge so many times to get over the bay but it’s fun to be ‘on’ the bay. There’s just something about being on the bay…beauty, relaxation, peace. The bridge looks so much smaller from here –

I liked the navigation – how deep and where are those fish?!

Tom as our Captain and Mate =)

Poles in the water…..now we just wait. Waiting is fine with me, for sure! And then….the pole moved =) Tom went to get the net but it’s all good – no net necessary HEHE

Lots of boats out but no one was bringing anything in – Tom was worried but we assured him it was still a perfect day for us…..a bad day fishing is still better than a good day anywhere else!
Next up? Let’s find a restaurant on the water. Rock Hall will do –

And Waterman’s smelled of Old Bay =)

What a great choice –

My Crabby Chicken was to die for =) And Ronnie’s Ahi Tacos weren’t bad either. Who can turn down Maryland Crab soup?! Obviously not us.

On the way back Ronnie and I took the best seat in the house – wayyyyyy up on top! I even had a steering wheel which I was informed Not to TOUCH. Challenge on, ha!

Now we can see the sting rays really good!

Of course Ronnie has his ‘game face’ on – I swear he wasn’t mad LOL

We made our way back through the channel – a nice little parade.

and then into the marina –

Such a ‘happenin’ place with Doc’s Red Eye right on the water. Very cool marina. Once back in and settled, I just happened to see these guys. It’s evidently mating season.

We said our good-byes then headed back over the bridge. What an awesome day. One day. Oh one day. We will be able to spend a lot more time here. Yes, we dream. We both love the water, sunshine and eastern shore life. I’m very lucky to have someone that loves it as much as I do.
I took over 300 photos and am sharing some here. Feel free to skip this if you don’t care to see the beautiful bay life.
