When you have children you just never know how they will turn out. There’s no instruction manual. There’s no return policy. You just do what you can to the best of your knowledge. You pray a lot. You worry a lot. And somehow everything always works out.
When I think about this young lady, she has always been the motherly type. She played with babies. Not Barbies but babies. Caring for three at once. Twins and Bitty Baby. She treated each the same and made sure they had food and clothing.
She also looked after her baby brother. Even though she was only 19 months older, she knew right away he would need her and her guidance.
Once she had nieces she was in heaven. She loves spending time with them. Caring for them. Making them happy.
Yes, it’s just who she is.
So when she decided to become a school teacher we weren’t surprised and honestly felt lucky for whoever was honored to have her as their teacher. She will be awesome. She will care. She will take everything to heart which in some cases will cause her pain. A perfect fit!
She has continued to care for people. People of all ages, physically or emotionally. She cares what people think. She wants everyone to be happy. That’s just who she is.
Last week she had a hair appointment. Her hair grows fast. She has A LOT of hair. But she was going somewhere different. I reminded her to be sure she said ‘trim’ because sometimes a trim ends up way shorter than she planned. Thinking no more about it, the day and evening progressed. And then on my way home I received a text from ‘her other mother’. The text said she was so proud of Cierra. Uh oh. What has she done? Where is this random text coming from.
And then I learned that she had actually gone to A Paul Mitchell Salon in Winchester, VA and donated her hair to Children With Hair Loss. No surprise. That’s just who she is.
From a little girl in Kindergarten
To an ‘all grown up’ young lady
And her beautiful hair will be a perfect fit to a child in need. How awesome.
CWHL is a little bit different than Locks of Love. She only needed to have 8″ and it’s my understanding that the cost to the family/child with is free. Blessed is the receiver of this beautiful hair.
