of my weight loss plan, my antique, free, $25 , Exer-mate bike decided to break (for the 4th time). Enough!
Ronnie said he heard it and really thought I was going to cry. But nope – he agreed I need a new one. Not too expensive but a new one. I looked on Amazon but was a little skeptical. Today I searched Sears and found one – and it was available in the store about 3 mile from work. So….just like old times, my BFF and I go on an adventure, ha! Right to the mall. We used to work about 4 blocks away but since we moved over 10 years ago we don’t visit the mall nearly as often. (we laughed and wondered why we aren’t saving money – hehe).
Anyway, we go into the store and look for the fitness area. Ah ha! we see treadmills. I find the cheapest one. $149 and hop on. Hey, it is quiet. It is smooth. It is a 2016 model versus 1960 =)
Now I have to figure out if it will fit in my car. We go find a man that couldn’t walk quite as fast as me (and “Linda” made fun of him). Sad. Shame Shame. Anyway, he tells me they have one left. I ask if it will fit in my car and he of course, says yep! and if not, we can unbox. And if still not, we can hold until someone comes to get. Ugh. I want it today.
Just to make sure he goes in the back to confirm there is one. Uh oh.. while he is in the back we decided to try out the elipticals, ha! dresses and all.

So funny. I wanted to take a selfie but we chickens out. Before we know it, he’s back. Yep! He is ready to ring me up. So ‘cited! I pay the bill and pull around to the side. (To be specific, the circle drive. Once inside, Scan your receipt) We followed instructions and the monitor said Brad was pulling my order. ha! when the ‘man’ comes through the door I try to be funny and say ‘hi Brad’. He was not humored.

What the heck? So I say…..’Are you Brad?” and he says “nope – he is back there some where”. Of course ‘Linda’ calls him something other than a nice guy =) He loads us up (it actually fits) and we head back to work. Mission accomplished.
Once home, I knew I was on my own. I unboxed the parts. Carried them upstairs. And sat on the floor. Dress and all =)

Then one by one I followed the instructions and it all came together. Well, not without a run to the new ‘Dollar General” just 2 miles away to get 4 D batteries.

But once back, I finished up my new motivation and ah ha! I am back in business. Of course, i have to take some pics.

It does make me sad that my antique is no longer in working order. Ronnie deducted $25 from someone’s bill years ago and brought this home. I LOVED it! I have used it over and over. Kendall and Kayden loved it. But, the chain kept coming off and honestly it was really ready to retire. It does have 260 miles (I’m not sure what year it is….I did google Exer-Mate and whew! they look really old)

Maybe I can decorate it with a basket and put it on the porch as a planter =) Anyway, I have now moved up to a newer model. What a difference 100 years makes….. it is actually harder to pedal! Work. Work. Work. Here they are, side by side.

Wish me luck. This new toy better keep me motivated to reduce some lbs. =) I am in my third day and still going strong. Determination. Dedication. Accomplishment.
