For those of you that know Mendie and me, you already know about our “Mary Jane” jokes. Basically when we have out smarted someone, we will say “Mary Jane laughed and laughed because she knew xxxxx”. Well, last week was one of those moments. I worked from home and received a package in the mail. It was from our favorite Brighton store in Frederick, yay!! Upon opening it, I realized there was one earring on a card, encouraging me to come into the store to pick up my “other” earring.
So, I immediately im’d Mendie to see if she was ‘there?’. (something else we do frequently). Once she said yes, I went on to tell her that Mary Jane laughed and laughed because she knew where her other earring was, lol! Of course Mendie was at work and had no idea what I meant. Not wanting to spoil the surprise, I let it play out until she got home. Sure enough, the next day she brought her card in and guess what?! WE HAD A PAIR!! 
Neither of us ever wear any earrings other than the diamonds our husbands bought us many, many years ago but just for a moment, we had to put them in and this is what you get –
